Sunday Services

Our Sunday morning Services are currently running about twice a month, see our Calendar for details.

As Unitarians we believe that wisdom and truth can be found in different religious and cultural traditions, and in non-religious areas of human endeavour such as art, science and philosophy. So the spiritual or philosophical message and religious content of our Service can vary quite a lot from week to week.

We sing hymns reflecting the chosen theme and we may hear stories or poetry. Often Services include readings from Christian or other scriptures, or philosophy. There is prayer, contemplation and quiet time for personal reflection. We hear a talk or address on the theme. There can be candle-lighting and sharing our joys and concerns.

Music can speak to the heart & soul deeply and powerfully, creating a time of beauty and reflection. So we frame the Service with a prelude and postlude.

There is space in The Old Meeting House to accommodate a level of distancing to allow everyone to feel comfortable. Currently mask-wearing is optional.
